A number of long term unemployed have found jobs after completing a six-month course in aged care.

The job seekers had been long term unemployed and faced multiple barriers including limited literary skills, financial concerns and self-esteem issues with four in the group being single mothers returning to the workforce.

Jobfind Bundaberg Manager Gwilym Lewis said the six-month course allowed the job seekers to demonstrate their commitment and get a real feel for the role.

The success of the course has prompted a second certificate to start with the graduates to finish their course just before Christmas.
