Response to COVID-19

In March 2020, Angus Knight created a National COVID-19 Response Team and enacted its Business Continuity Plan and Communicable Disease and Control Policy in response to the evolving global pandemic.

COVID-19 Safety plan

Our COVID-19 Safety Plan follows government advice and prioritises a safe workplace while protecting the community and preventing the spread of COVID-19 disease. Site-by-site, we conducted risk assessments that considered level of risk by population density, current and potential exposure to disease, community transmission of disease, and ethnicity of area. We are regularly communicating with staff, including a dedicated COVID intranet tab, FAQs and CEO communications.

Our Community Development Programmes are treated with particular care due to Indigenous peoples and people living in remote communities being at greater risk from COVID-19. In accordance with the Australian Government’s Emergency Response Plan for Communicable Disease Incidents of National Significance, our Community Development Program offices delivered services remotely from 25th February 2020, recommencing face-to-face programs in November 2020.

All Angus Knight Group offices are installed with: QR Code check-ins, State Government COVID Safe workplace signs, face masks, hygiene stations and temperature check equipment.

Since March 2020 we have:

Undertaken 252 Work-From-Home assessments and we modified home offices where needed.
Identified vulnerable staff (according to their COVID-19 risk profile) and actively monitored and supported them to maintain their safety and employment.
Hired and inducted 28 new staff in Melbourne virtually.
Promoted and encouraged utilisation of our fully funded Benestar Wellbeing Program for staff.

Our client-facing services adapted by:

Completing over 10,900 Zoom and telephone interactions and e-signatures since March 2020.
Responding to increased employer demand in thriving industries: cleaning, driving, and logistics.
We reported back each fortnight to our Government partners on progress.

“One of our most rewarding factors during these challenging times has been leading a very determined team in continuing their efforts to bring both employers and job seekers together.”

Chelsie Hyland, General Manager Employment Services Jobfind

Melbourne Lockdown

As the Melbourne lockdown continued into September 2020, we sent a care pack to our 150+ Melbourne team members that coincided with RU OK? Day. The gesture from the company communicated that we were concerned for each team member’s wellbeing, with a personalised note from Duncan Angus and the leadership team. In addition to some pampering products we included the contact details for the confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
